How to Open a PST File

A PST (Personal Storage Table) file is an Outlook data file that stores emails, contacts, calendar items, and other data. Here's how to open one:

For Outlook 2016, 2019, 2021, or Microsoft 365:

  1. Open Microsoft Outlook
  1. Go to the File menu
    • Click on "File" in the top-left corner
  1. Open & Export
    • Click "Open & Export"
    • Select "Open Outlook Data File"
  1. Browse for your PST file
    • Navigate to the location where your PST file is saved
    • Select the PST file
    • Click "OK"
  1. Access the data
    • The PST file will appear in your folder pane on the left side of Outlook
    • You can now browse emails, contacts, and other items within the file
