What is the difference between a team and a channel?

In Microsoft Teams, a team is a group of people collaborating on a project or common interest, encompassing all members and their shared resources. Within a team, channels are specific sections dedicated to particular topics or projects, allowing for organized and focused discussions. While all team members can access standard channels, private channels restrict access to selected individuals, ensuring confidentiality for sensitive conversations. This structure helps streamline communication and enhance collaboration within an organization.
